Contamination in Mushroom Spores

To avoid Contamination in mushroom spores. Never wipe or heat the needles we send you.
The needles we provide with every spore syringe are British Medical Quality. Our needle supplier also supplies the NHS.

The needles come Gamma Irradiated and housed in a sealed packet. Just unscrew the black tip from the syringe and screw the coloured end of the needle in its place. Only take the needle protector off when you are ready to use.

We do test the spore syringe solution for contamination in mushroom spores in much the same way our customers do before sending. We feel that viewing the spore solution under microscope before sale helps us reduce your chances of you viewing contamination in mushroom spores. With experience, we know that customer error does account for a large majority of potential problems. We also understand that we can not view every ML of spore solution we sell.

See a problem?

If you do have a spore solution contamination issue. Please report the spore syringe that your were studying under microscope to the team.

If you have an issue with contaminated substrate please let us know as soon as the contamination is seen. Contaminated substrate on delivery will be replaced asap.

Always send picture to help us understand the problem.

Many thanks.

Please allow 2-3 weeks of uninterrupted fruiting conditions before trying manual fruiting.

So, if you have had a bag in fruiting conditions for more than 28 days and it has not started to fruit. You may not have warm enough temps around the upper part of the bag. Make sure you have a clear box or similar over the sprinkle bag and heat mat to help keep the heat in. Please now take a manual fruiting approach.

To fruit the bag manually follow these steps

1. Open bag at top

2. Spray the 4 inner sides of the bag

3. Fan the top of the bag to drive fresh air into the bag for 30 seconds

4. Seal the bag back up and leave alone enjoy your day

5. Repeat the fanning misting process every morning and evening until you see small pins form.

6. When pins form please leave the bag sealed and the mushrooms will grow.

7. Should take 2-3 weeks to fruit

8. If bag does not work then the fruiting conditions have not been satisfied

9. Fruiting conditions are 26 – 27 degrees and similar light levels found in a normal family lounge.

10. NO DIRECT SUNLIGHT “TREAT LIKE A VAMPIRE”

Specific Mushroom terminology

Agar is a type of gelatinous substance that is derived from seaweed.

It is commonly used in mycology (the study of fungi) as a solid growth medium for cultivating fungi, including yeasts and molds.

In mycology

Agar is mixed with water and other nutrients to create a liquid growth medium. The mixture is then poured into petri dishes or test tubes and allowed to solidify. Once the agar has solidified, it provides a stable surface on which fungi can grow.

Agar is preferred over other types of growth media because it is sterile, easy to use, and supports the growth of a wide range of fungi. It is also relatively inexpensive and widely available.

Types of Agar.

There are several types of agar that are used in mycology, including potato dextrose agar (PDA), which is used to cultivate a variety of fungi, including yeasts, molds, and bacteria. Malt extract agar (MEA) is also commonly used to cultivate fungi, particularly yeasts, and nutrient agar (NA) is used to cultivate bacteria.

In addition to its use in mycology, agar is also used in the food industry as a thickening agent, in the cosmetics industry as a stabiliser, and in molecular biology as a solid growth medium for cultivating cells.

Capsules, also known as gelatin pills or soft-gels, are commonly used to encapsulate various types of medications and supplements, including mushrooms. They are made of a semipermeable membrane that is filled with a liquid or a semisolid substance. The capsules also come in a Vegan friendly option and are made from Cellulose.

What are capsules made from?

Gelatin and cellulose capsules are often used to micro-dose mushrooms because they allow users to consume the mushrooms without tasting their earthy or bitter flavour. They are also convenient to use and easy to swallow.

How to use capsules for micro-dosing?

To use capsules for micro-dosing mushrooms, the mushrooms are ground into a fine powder and placed into one end of the capsule. The user can then swallow the capsule with a glass of water, allowing them to consume the mushrooms without tasting them.

Beware of the rules!

It is important to note that micro-dosing mushrooms and other psychedelic substances is a controversial practice and is not supported by scientific evidence. It is also important to be aware of the risks associated with the use of these substances, including the potential for psychological distress and negative interactions with certain medications.
