How does the Dutch style tub work in SimpliciKit™ V1?

Inside the bag is a Dutch-style tub and humidity layer (perlite). This helps maintain a stable microclimate while staying contained, reducing exposure to open air and keeping the process simpler and cleaner.

How long does colonisation take?

Typical colonisation times are 5–8 weeks at ~20°C (room temperature) and 3–4 weeks at 26–27°C (recommended). Lower temperatures slow growth, so stable warmth speeds results.

Is SimpliciKit™ V1 “auto-fruiting”?

Yes. Once fully colonised, SimpliciKit™ V1 can auto-fruit with minimal intervention (light misting as instructed). You can also choose a more traditional manual fruiting approach if preferred.

What temperature is best for faster results?

For fastest colonisation, aim for 26–27°C using a controlled warm space (for example, a thermostat-controlled heat source). Stable temperature matters more than “hotter”.

What’s included, and what do I need to supply?

Your kit includes the filtered grow bag + Dutch style tub + sterilised rye grain + vermiculite + perlite, plus a hygiene pack (sterile work surface and gloves). You’ll need to source your own gourmet/medicinal culture separately (not included).

Can I grow different gourmet mushroom species with this kit?

Do I need to fan the kit or use a grow tent?
