This Dutch style Mushroom growkit can be fruited just like the original MycoBox of old times. We just like to make new techniques to speed things up.

With a three stage attack on growing problems.
We have taken the world famous Dutch style mushroom growing tubs and placed the tubs and the perlite needed for humidity control inside the mushroom grow bags. We seal the bag with a re-usable Easy Glide Sealer Stick before sterilization. After sterilization, we have a super simple mushroom growing kit. All wrapped up and ready for use as soon as your delivery arrives.
We have eliminated the need to add an alcohol swab with this kit.
With the mushroom growing tub being sterilized in a sealed bag. All surfaces inside the bag are to be considered STERILE. The injection ports on SimpliciKit V1 are sterile also, so there is no need to wipe the ports before Injection.
To use. Simply slide the sealer stick to the side. Pick up your syringe with needle attached and unfold the bag top. Place your hand into the bag and quickly inject your spores via the 6 injection ports. Close the bag back up with the Sealer Stick and keep at 26-27c for fastest colonization.
Reduced contamination Risk.
During transport. The outer bag will serve to protect the MushTub and the Substrate inside by stopping contaminated air entering the mushroom grow kit.
During colonization. The still air inside the Grow Bag will prevent any contamination risk from the air that entered the bag while your were inoculating the kit with spores.
During Fruiting. With everything situated in one bag. Fruiting mushrooms from the SimpliciKit is made so simple that there are far fewer steps to follow. When the Mushroom growing tub is fully colonized. Just pour half a cup of water on to the perlite to hydrate. Then simply remove the lid and mist the vermiculite top surface 4-5 times and close the bag back up to start the fruiting process. PLEASE USE THE FULL INSTRUCTIONS BELOW.
Maintain space temps of 26-27c and within 2 weeks you will see tiny mushrooms growing up.
The mushroom grow bag and the MushTub both have independent filters. For this kit we have chosen the green filters as these have the highest airflow. During colonization the filters will allow for lots of gas exchange and the incoming gases/Air will be double filtered. Gas exchange is important so that the mycelium can breath well while it grows.
Sterilized in a mushroom grow bag that not only keeps your project sterile while its colonizing. The bag is also used to fruit your chosen mushroom species. Simplici-kit.

So what do you get with the SimplicKit V1?
You will receive the following with your Kit.
- A fully filtered mushroom grow and fruiting bag containing the following.
- MushTub containing 1110ml of hydrated and sterilized rye grains toped with 100ml of golden vermiculite to promote fruiting and to supply essential minerals to your mushroom fruit.
- 250ml of sterilized perlite to aid with moisture control.
Not in the grow bag but supplied with the kit. One sterile Mycomedi pack containing the following:
- 40x40cm sterile surface to work on.
- Latex gloves (Large)
- A fully recyclable bag to dispose of the syringe (not included), gloves and sterile surface after you have inoculated the bag. In fact the entire kit is fully recyclable.
So how do i get started?

Open the box carefully.
You will see we have taken the time to over bag the Simplici-Kit. Open the Mycomedi Pack and spread out the 40x40cm sterile surface supplied in the Mycomedi pack but do not put on the gloves yet. Open the white outer bag by hand and unravel the kit. Shake any loose perlite to the base of the bag. Tip the kit to the side to move any perlite from the lid. Place the mushroom growkit on the sterile surface. NOW don your gloves.
Shake your syringe with black cap in place vigorously for 30 seconds to shake up any spore clumps. Our gourmet or medicinal spore syringes will be sent with a needle. To attach this to the syringe, you will need to Hold your breath. Now quickly open the needle packet. Un-screw the black protective cap from the syringe and screw the needle in its place. Work fast and with care. Now breathe.
KEEP THE NEEDLE PROTECTOR ON UNTIL READY USE. Try not to breath into the syringe/needle connection and work fast. Once the needle is screwed into the syringe. Place the spore syringe down on the supplied sterile surface so its ready to use.
The mushroom grow bag is sealed with an Easy Glide Sealer stick. The stick is removed by sliding the stick to one side. One end of the stick can be considered to be less pointy. Pull on the less pointy end to remove the stick. Do not dismantle the sealer stick, it works as one piece.
The bag will remain folded at the top. Waiting for you to open it and bring the kit to life.
After removing the sealer stick from the bag but keeping the bag top folded as.....
You may now pick up the syringe ready to use and open the top of the bag with the other hand. Remove the needle protector and place your syringe hand into the bag. Insert the needle straight down into each port and add 1-3ml between the 6 included injection ports. If the syringe flow seems stuck just pull the syringe up slightly while still pressing the plunger. Flow will continue. After all the spore solution has been shared between the injection ports and the syringe is empty. Replace the needle protector. Needles are SHARP.
A 10 or 20 ml Syringe will suit this kit. Once the spores are inside the tub. Use the Gravity360 method to tilt the box in all directions so the spore solution runs through the kit. Aided by gravity, well distributed spore solution will speed up the colonization process by a week or so.
Make notes of strains and dates easily by using a black biro to write on the white filter patch. Do not pierce the filter.
To close the bag. You will need to fold the top of the bag as it was when you opened it. The easy glide sealer stick will slide onto the bag well if the bag is folded correctly. Slide the pointy end of the sealer stick onto the fold of the bag so that the yellow part of the stick will go under the bags fold. The colored outer part of the stick goes over the bags fold. Slide the stick all the way on. Having some air inside the bag when its closed is a good idea as this makes the bag puff out and stand up so the white filter patch can breath. Always allow an air path from the bag filter to the box.
Keep this kit warm at a temperature monitored at 26-27c for fastest results. Colonization of this kit should be done in the dark to avoid premature pinning. A space without light is needed as colonization will take 4-5weeks. Do not open the bag during this time. Quick checks on the SimpliciKit can be made with out issue. But do not leave any lights on and do not open the bag.
How to auto fruit the simpliciKit?

The Simplici-kit can be considered ready to fruit when the white mycelium has covered all the grains and is just starting to grow up through the golden vermiculite. Make sure that there are no rye grains left uncolonized. At this point the kit is ready to fruit.
This is the easy bit.
***ADD A DIM LIGHT SOURCE TO THE BAG. Not direct sunlight***
***Most lighting will be too close and too bright. A sheet of plain A4 paper makes a great light diffuser***
- Open the bag and pour half a cup of fresh run TAP water into the white perlite in the base of the bag.
- Remove the lid and place this behind the grow box but still in the bag. Keep the lid and Keep it clean basically.
- With a mist bottle. Spray into the bag 4-5 times so that the mist falls down onto the semi colonized golden vermiculite.
- Now close the bag up and maintain a space temperature of 26-27c. Heat mats set to these temps will work well BUT a heated space with air temps of 24c-28c will work better.
Now that you have initiated the fruiting process. All you need to do is maintain your environmental temperatures and 12 hrs a day lighting and with in 14days you will start to see your mushrooms growing.
DO NOT OPEN YOUR GROW BAG YET.
The Mushroom growing bag will preform the nessacery magic for your mushrooms to grow. Keep the bag closed from the point of Initiating fruiting to the time you want to harvest your mushrooms. Closed growing systems means lower contamination risk. Click HERE to jump to Mature Mushrooms and Harvest
Can these kits be manualy fruited by fanning and spraying.
- Remove one of the injection ports but keep the lid on the grow box.
- Pour clean running tap water into the hole where the injection port came from. Make sure to fully fill the container with tap water and make sure to replace the injection port when the container is full of water.
- Leave the fully colonized mushroom grow box with the tap water inside to soak for 24 hours at room temp.
- After 24hours has passed. Remove any one of the injection ports and place the mushroom grow box container upside down to drain.
- Leave upside down for 30mins to drain fully.
- When 30mins of drainage time has passed. Place the Mushtub into the grow bag lid side up.
- Add 100ml of tap water to the perlite.
- Remove the lid and place behind the mushroom grow box but still inside the bag. Keep it and keep it clean.
- Mist into the bag heavily until morning dew forms on the cakes surface close the bag up and leave for 24hrs. Never spray the cake closer than 30cm distance and always use the finest mist setting that you can.
- On the second day open the bag and fan the bag for 30 seconds. Then mist lightly into the bag to replace the dew. Do this once in the morning and once at night.
- This repeated drying and mist cycle will promote pin growth and should be continued until pins show or 3 weeks has passed. No pins after 3 weeks means you must re soak the cake and start the fruiting process again. Soak and Drain the cake well before trying fruiting again. Maintaining wet but evaporating surface conditions is the key to promoting pins/baby mushrooms.
- When pins show. Increase the misting distance to 45cm away from Grow bags opening. At this point you may introduce 30seconds of fanning before and directly after misting has finished. Overly wet and dark pin heads or baby pin heads that have been shot with a mister spray will abort. Keep the environment moist but with good fanning and evaporation. We all need to breath to grow.
- Harvest mushrooms as they reach maturity. Mature mushrooms can be twisted and pulled free from the substrates surface.
- Soak cakes in original box with closed lid for more mushroom flushes. Please repeat from step 1 of this guide. Click HERE to jump to Mature Mushrooms and Harvest
How else can the Mushroom grow box be fruited?
- Remove the fully colonized Mushroom Grow box from the Simplici-kit grow bag.
- Remove one of the injection ports but keep the lid on the grow box.
- Pour clean running tap water into the hole where the injection port came from. Make sure to fully fill the container with tap water and make sure to replace the injection port when the container is full of water.
- Leave the fully colonized mushroom grow box with the tap water inside to soak for for 24 hours at room temp.
- After 24hours has passed. Remove any one of the injection ports and place the mushroom grow box container upside down to drain.
- Leave upside down for 30mins to drain fully.
- After draining, Open the bag of Vermiculite and pour contents into a large and clean bowl.
- Remove the mushroom growing box lid and tip the fully colonized AND DRAINED mushroom substrate cake from its container and into the pile of vermiculite in the bowl.
- You are to roll the square cake into the vermiculite so that the wet cake now has dry vermiculite covering almost every bit of the cake. Work slow and gently press the cake into mounded vermiculite. Be careful as strong hands may crush this delicate rye grain substrate cake.
- Leave the cake in the vermiculite while you take your dry grow chamber that you have previously washed out with bleach water and pour in your white perlite. Add water to the rate of half the volume of perlite. So 2l perlite gets 1l of water.
- Place as many lids as you have cakes into the fruiting chamber and place your cake/s now covered in golden vermiculite ontop of its lid. Place the cake on the lid so that original topside of the cake that was originally covered in vermiculite is now flipped to be on the bottom side.
- Leave the side vent holes of the grow chamber open and mist the cakes heavily until morning dew forms on the cakes surface. Never spray the cakes closer than 30cm distance and always use the finest mist setting that you can. Repeat the misting 3 times a day. The interval between sprays allows the outer vermiculite coating on the cake to semi dry.
- This repeated drying and mist cycle will promote pin growth and should be continued until pins show or 3 weeks has passed. No pins after 3 weeks means you must re soak the cake and start the fruiting process again. Soak and Drain the cake well before trying fruiting again. Maintaining wet but evaporating surface conditions is the key to promoting pins/baby mushrooms.
- When pins show. Reduce the misting cycle to 2 times a day and increase misting distance to 45cm away from Grow chamber opening. At this point you may introduce 30seconds of fanning directly after misting has finished. Overly wet and dark pin heads or baby pin heads that have been shot with a mister spray will abort.
- The perlite in the base of the grow chamber will help keep humidity high. Increase misting if your mushrooms develop fuzzy feet or fuzzy leg. Perfect conditions lead to large mushrooms.

- Soak cakes in original box with closed lid for more mushroom flushes. Please repeat from step 2 of this guide. Optional extra coatings of vermiculite are beneficial for a great 2nd, 3rd, 4th pin set etc.

In simple...... This guide could go on and on....
- Remove the lid from the fully colonized rye grain container.
- Open a bag of coco coir or horse manure bulk substrate and shake the cake free and into the bulk bag.
- Seal the bulk bag back up with an easy glide sealer stick.
- Break up the rye grain cake inside the sealed bulk bag and mix well with the bulk substrate.
- You know have a mixed and ready to use grain and bulk substrate. Fruit from the bag or try your grow chamber as a Monotub.... The world is now your Oyster....
Mature Mushrooms and harvest.
Mushrooms have reached peak maturity when the veil connecting the mushroom cap rim and stem breaks. Mushrooms from multi spore syringes will mature at slightly different times and mushrooms left too long after the veil breaks will drop a blackish spore soot over the cakes surface. This can happen within an hour of the veil breaking. Spore drop should be avoided.
Leave the Growtub inside the growbag while harvesting.
You can choose to harvest ALL the mushrooms when you feel most of the mushrooms have reached a good level of maturity. To do this grasp, twist and gently pull the mushroom free from the substrate surface. Tiny mushroom pins less than 10mm can be left for the next flush.
A staggered harvest can also be preformed. In this method, early or spore dropping mushrooms can be harvested by the Grasp, twist and pull method. Work quickly to open the bag, take what you will and close the bag to maintain humidity for the remaining mushrooms to grow more and mature.
Please do you own research on what your chosen mushroom species should look like when ready to harvest. All in all. Your eyes, nose and other senses will clearly tell you if your mushrooms are healthy.
They will smell healthy and they will look healthy and beautiful just like nature intended. If they smell bad they most probably are bad. Deformities are common in mushrooms due to being pressed up against plastic or from being bruised etc.
How do you get more Mushrooms after the first harvest?
After harvest. Just fill the substrate container with clean running tap water.
Be careful and turn the tap on low. Try and get the water into a corner of the tub and not directly onto the surface of the cake. Place the lid back on the container. Seal up the bag with a sealer stick and wait 24hrs.
After 24hours has passed. Please remove one of the injection ports and place upside down to drain for 30mins.
After 30mins. Remove the lid and place the mushroom grow box back into the Simplici-kit bag right side up.
Close the bag and return to the warm 26-27c space and mushroom will reappear within 2 weeks.
Failure to drain the cake well post soak will mean a wet cake and a agonizing extra wait for fruiting. Do not skip the drain stage.
You can keep flushing and fruiting the cake until the cake goes moldy or until all the food has gone and no more mushrooms grow.
The kit is super efficient at turning substrate into mushrooms.
Very easy to use and very fruitful.
The kit works mostly easily as an auto fruiting or manual fruit in the bag kit. But if you know how to PF TEK like a boss you will achieve higher yield fruiting these cake upside down and rolled in vermiculite in a fruiting chamber.
